Foundation design explores traditional design elements and principles. This course covers the same content as our full-time certificate iii course, but is offered part-time to high school students. Successful graduates of the VET program are automatically accepted into the college, and can graduate with an advanced diploma only 18 months after finishing school. Foundation design provides a thorough understanding of design theory, allowing students to master the creative process and develop problem solving techniques. At this early stage of design development, experimentation with colour, mixed media and a comprehensive range
of art materials is encouraged.

This course serves as an introduction for students who wish to develop their design and creative skills. It enables them to make well educated decisions regarding a future career in this exciting industry, and arms them with a portfolio to assist in pursuit of further education.
